Results of Coral Reef Monitoring |

 The then Environment Agency of Japan - now the Ministry of the Environment - began monitoring around Ishigaki Island and the Sekisei Lagoon in 1998. The ministry makes the results of that monitoring available on the Internet, as part of efforts to make information more accessible. |

 The Ministry of the Environment has establish Marin Park System under the Nature Parks Law in 1970 to protect beautiful undersea scape which contain diverse marine organisms.There are 64 Marine Parks designated in Japan. |
