| @Studies on creating marine parks and evaluations of proposed sites were initiated in Japan, just as they have been elsewhere. As a result, it was decided to establish protected sea areas as extensions of national parks and quasi-national parks, and in 1970 the Natural Parks Law was amended to authorize the government to so designate regions of the sea with important underseascapes as gmarine park zones.h | ![]() |
